ALUMINIUM TWISTED SPLITTING WEDGE: SAFE SPLITTING EVEN WITH FROZEN WOOD
In professional forestry work, splitting wedges aid the effective cutting of tree trunks in timber harvesting, for example. The twist shape and narrow cutting edge of the STIHL aluminium twisted splitting wedge create high cleaving force, while lateral retaining teeth enable maximum grip. In addition, the wedge’s milled groove ensures optimum guidance and precise splitting results. This means that even frozen wood can be prevented from slipping and clean splitting is possible.
Made from forged aluminium, the 22 cm long splitting wedge is dimensionally stable and weighs 920 g. The domed striking surface optimally distributes the force applied on impact.
The STIHL aluminium rotary splitting wedge has received the KWF Standard quality mark from Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik e.V. (Forestry and forestry technology advisory board).
